Liverpool's Dietmar
Hamann was forced to pull out of Germany's squad for the FIFA
Confederations Cup because of an injury to his right foot. Injured
Werder Bremen striker Miroslav Klose who will undergo knee surgery joins
VFB Stuttgart's Philipp Lahm on the missing list. Werder Bremen's
defender Christian Schulz was forced to pull out of Germany's FIFA
Confederations Cup squad on Tuesday because of a badly bruised leg
suffered in training and will not be replaced.
Australia coach Frank
Farina left midfielders Vince Grella and Marco Bresciano out of his
squad for the FIFA Confederations Cup because of commitments with
their Italian club Parma. Parma face a home-and-away Serie A relegation
play-off against Bologna. Australia will also be without Liverpool's
Harry Kewell, who has had surgery following an injury-plagued season
which ended when he limped out of the UEFA Champions League final after
just 23 minutes against AC Milan in May.
